1. Andrew Sullivan posted the same map at his site. Andrew was strongly pro-Israel, but has become disgusted by the whole settlement business.

Jeffery Goldberg takes issue with Sullivan's posting of the map:

  3. This map is ridiculous, not only because the term "Palestinian" in 1946 referred, generally speaking, to the Jews who lived in Palestine, not the Arabs.

Poor Palestinians, they're even stripped off their name here in favor of the Jews!! This is pure madness..Those people have a disease that cannot be cured..Their love and support for Israel is blinding them to the most evident facts..I hate them to an extent that I don't wish them cured..They don't even deserve it...

The same is valid for Syria and Jordan, independent in 1946, and Iraq, independent in 1932..

The same is valid for Syria, independent in 1946. Should one assume that there was no Syrian country?!

For over two thousand years the land was called Palestine and its inhabitants were called the Palestinians by the rest of the world. Any search of textbooks published before Israel was created will reveal this very clearly.
