Turkish PM: why pressure Iran, not nuclear Israel?

Erdogan: countries with nuclear weapons not in moral position to lecture other nations on nuclear.
LONDON - Turkey's prime minister said Tuesday it was "only rumours" that Iran was making nuclear weapons, stressing Tehran's right to develop civilian atomic power.

Speaking before meeting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in London, Recep Tayyip Erdogan also questioned why countries like Israel did not face calls from the international community to disarm, while Iran did.

  1. I do not trust anything this guys says. I know he scored a hit in the Arab world because he called out Shimon Peres, but really, such hypocrisy. When Turkey gives the Assyrians, Armenians, and Pontic Greeks right of return and compensation, then I'll listen to him. When the Christian minority is no longer persecuted and discriminated against, and the land theft stops, perhaps he can preach to Israel.

Rather odd advice he gave to German Turks:

Erdogan urges German Turks not to integrate

  2. That is right vza,  why not hold out for world peace first,  before Israel does anything toward peace?  Tie to it every other issue in the world as an excuse for Israeli intransigence.  As I have said before,  you might fool everyone else in here,  but this is nothing but the old hasbara bullshit that you have continually spewed on this site -

    We rockThey suckYou suckEverything sucks

<span>That's it. Now you know everything that it took me a lifetime to learn. The rest is details; filling in the dotted lines.</span>

<span>You begin by saying how great Israel is. Israel want peace; Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East; the desert blooms; kibutz; Israelis invented antibiotics, the wheel, the E minor scale; thanks to the occupation Palestinians no longer live in caves; Israel liberates Arab women; Israel has the most moral army in the world, etc.</span>

<span>This will win over 50% of your listeners immediately. Don't worry about the factual content. This is about brand identity, not writing a PhD. Do you really think BP is 'beyond petroleum'?</span>

<span>Then you go into the second point: They suck. Here you talk about the legal system of Saudi Arabia, gay rights in Iran, slave trade in the Sudan, Mohammad Atta, the burqa, Palestinians dancing after 9/11, Arafat's facial hair, etc.</span>

<span>There is only one additional principle you need to understand here. It will separate you from the amateurs. You need to know your audience. If you've got a crowd already disposed to racist logic, go for it with everything you have. But if you get a liberal crowd, you need to sugar coat the racism a bit. Focus on women rights, human rights, religious tolerance, "clash of civilizations", terrorism, they teach their children to hate, etc..."</span>

  3. If you need to sharpen up a little bit vza,  here is the Cliff's Notes for you -

  4. VZA, I am a huge fan of Turkey and Tayyip Erdogan.

I think that both Israel and Palestine have no truer friend and well wisher than Erdogan.

  5. Oh my God. Some perceptive comments from V. The world is coming to an end. ;)

  6. At least he's not a dirty red, vza. How does he stand in comparison to Red Nehru, Red Vanessa and Red Hugo?

  7. <span>That is right vza,  why not hold out for world peace first,  before Israel does anything toward peace? </span>

Who said anything about Israel not doing anything until all the other problems are solved? Not I, v.
Nice try, but your silly talking points never have and never will intimidate me. Of course, in your world there is only one view of who is suffering and deserving of immediate action. I understand completely.

  8. Really? Well, diversity of opinion makes the world an interesting place doesn't it?
