The fearless women of Bahrain's revolution

Bahraini protesters protect their faces from tear gas during a protest in Manama last Saturday to demand the freedom of Abdulhadi Al Khawaja, a prominent activist jailed by the regime last year & now in critical condition from a two-month hunger strike. The regime says it is considering a request by Denmark to gain custody of Al Khawaja, who is also a Danish citizen. This photo highlights at once two features of the revolution against tyranny in Bahrain: the regime’s excessive use of tear gas & the front line role of women in standing up against regime violence. 1. They have to face their own government and ours (US.)

  2. They not only have their own government to stand up to, but the US and Saudis as well.  Has this repression ever been mentioned on the UN floor?  If it has I'm unaware of it.

  3. Freedom for Bahrain now! Excellent post. KSA and the deep state (GHQ) need to let the Bahrainis have their own freedom.
