Societies dont just crumble on their own. History bears this out. Disease, pestilence, starvation, war, they engender collapse. But not often in this day and age.

When since the 1870s (native Americans) have Americans practiced ethnic cleansing? Maybe the writer mean the English?
ReplyDeleteHow have the Israelis followed the American model? Racism against patriotic loyal successful Israeli citizens is wrong. Just because an Israeli citizen of Palestinian descent gets better grades than you, has a better job than you, works harder than you, saves more than you, and has more wealth than you than you isn't an excuse to discriminate against them. It is immoral, ammoral, and wrong. Israelis are better than that.
Much of the Israeli misdeads against Palestinians might be driven by jealousy. Jealousy is one of the 6 deadly sins. It will destroy us unless we confront it.
It appears that "the writer" was talking about the ethnic cleansing practiced against native Americans, Why this shouldn't apply today I can't understand, since the 2nd class citizen status still applies.
ReplyDeleteBuh, in America increasingly wealth is getting concentrated in the hands of immigrants, children of immigrants, ethnic Americans, minority Americans. This is starting to lead to resentment and jealousy, which could be dangerous and harmful to America's long term growth.
ReplyDeleteDon't agree with you that Native Americans (at least Native Americans who live in large urban areas in California, Texas, Florida, Utah etc.) are second class citizens in America anymore. America has changed a lot over the last couple generations.
England has a much bigger challenge with racism, however. England needs to learn from countries that incorporate immigrants and minorities well, such as Hong Kong, America, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia, Australia, Ireland and India.
I really dislike attacking the "Jewish regime." Implying that somehow Israel is synonymous with Jews. This is very wrong.
