Revolution is for rebels & sometimes they're old
There’s a tiresome adage that says ‘revolution is for the young’. The hell with that stuff! In protests around the world, we’ve seen thousands of seniors take on tyranny & attacks on working people with ferocity & determination. The backbone of the antiwar movement here is veteran activists, some of whom have been doing this for nearly 50 years. This man in Tahrir Square is no spring chicken but that only means he’s had more decades to witness & develop a loathing for tyranny. His chants & the chains on this third day of protest in Tahrir Square signify that “Egypt is still in US & military chains”. And he doesn't appear to be flagging in that commitment.
