I wish all our readers a happy 2013. May it be personally blessed & may our political work to make this a better world make giant bounds forward.
I especially hope for stronger & more massive protests against US-NATO wars & US bombings; for growing solidarity with the Palestinians; for more powerful Arab uprisings which make a mockery of racist ideology & hold such high hopes for social transformation; for major advances in immigrant rights--along with less cause for their dislocation & need to move--but safe passage to wherever they want to go if they have to move; & for renewed struggle against violence toward women & children.
I'm posting one of my favorite photos of Afghan refugees in Pakistan by the photojournalist, Muhammed Muheisen, who documents their plight & captures their beauty with such tenderness. Aren't children always the primary reason for changing the world?
(P.S. And is it wrong to add, I hope 2013 is the year Betty Windsor & her mutant clan are finally thrown out on their asses!?)
