If Gandhi had been in Palestine, he’d probably be undergoing torture now

Stop the Wall offices hit in late night raid
Late last night Occupation forces raided the Stop the Wall offices in Ramallah. Some 10 military jeeps, hummers and an armoured bus surrounded the building as soldiers searched rooms, turning the office upside down and confiscating computer hard disks, laptops, and video cameras along with paper documents, CDs, and video cassettes.

  1. Gandhiji might have favored a one state solution where Palestinians and Israelis live as one family.

Gandhiji might have treated the Israeli/Palestinian conflict the way he dealt with the Hindu Muslim conflict on the subcontinent.

Gandhiji might have begged the Israelis to love the Palestinians as their own brothers and sisters. Similiarly, he would likely have begged the Palestinians to love the Israelis as their own family members.

How would Israelis and Palestinians have responded to Gandhiji?

Gandhiji probably would have strongly condemned all violent actions by everyone; possibly fasted to death in protest.

Gandhiji was very clear that he believed that the Indian police and Indian army should be disarmed.

When a police officer saw someone being tortured or raped, Gandhiji said that police person should not use violence. Rather he should inspire the miscreant to stop misbehaving by the power of the policeman's own example and character.

Gandhiji's path was always a very difficult one.
