Poetic tribute to the children of Gaza

A lovely poetic tribute to the children of Gaza by Indian poet, Musab Iqbal:

For an unnamed girl in Gaza
_____
There is hope
Yes, there is hope

There is light
Yes, there is light

In the cornered center of the map
Pushed to wall of Mediterranean
A city still breathes.

A city still fights
All streets still prefer to walk
Bazaar still sells in the drone rains.

In the drone rain
One strong girl, still fights back
With her blue umbrella of hope.

Her umbrella of hope
Filters darkness, stops ugly waves
Under the umbrella is the spiritual space.

That spiritual space
Gives life to dead philosophers
Bless poets with composed couplets.

Those couplets are
All for her, like the Rumi’s rose
All for the wandering Shams.

Yes, there is hope
Yes, there is light
