This woman, named Tahera Begum, worked at the Tazreen Fashions garment factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She escaped the fire on November 24th, which killed 112 of her coworkers & injured over 150 others, but according to her husband, she suffers from amnesia & mental illness as a result.
Once again, this photo is not posted to invade her privacy or exploit her suffering but to encourage people to boycott Walmart, Sears, & Disney apparels for using sweatshop labor, ignoring the safety of workers, promoting child labor, & the violent exploitation of women workers. It should be added that activists in Bangladesh reported to ABC News that in the wreckage they found order forms, garments, & insignia for the US Marine Corps--indicating the Pentagon’s support for sweatshops.
