Israel destroyed this man's house in its illegal war against Gaza last year and he rebuilt it from the rubble.

  1. New life will emerge from the ruins. That which has been shattered will be rebuilt, and life will continue even if under primitive conditions. The enemy may leave cities and towns in rubble and ashes, but can never break the human heart. The people of Gaza are the victims of a cynical enemy that is trying to inflict horror, pain, and death upon them as a way of forcing them to betray their country. Such an attempt will never succeed. These cowardly deeds will only bring eternal shame on the governments that carry out such a contemptible policy that mocks all standards of human decency.

  2. True. That takes a lot of tenacity. This is why I am optimistic about Palestinians long term.

  3. What is interesting is Israelis don't want Gaza. They want large parts of the West Bank (specifically Greater Jerusalem.)

However, Gaza won't stop nonviolent resistance until all Palestinians know justice, freedom and success.
