Homeless in Karachi, Pakistan
This homeless woman in Karachi, Pakistan lives by the railway tracks with her small boy. Here in the squalor & toxicity of rubbish, fumes, & predatory birds she is bathing her son. There are dozens of photojournalist accounts showing refugees from war & natural disasters, homeless people, & others in dire circumstances using polluted waters, drain pipes, bowls to bathe themselves & their loved ones. Human dignity & pride are stubborn things & always a testimony to the glory of being meant for higher things. (Photo by Shakil Adil)
