Defiance is a virtue

Afghan children wait while their parents meet with US military officials in Buwri Tana district, Khost province, Afghanistan, where 130,000 NATO troops are stationed. There are no reports on why the parents met with the military but we can guess, from looking at the chagrined kids, it’s not a happy occasion. These kids are not playing to the camera but defiant.
