Only about 10 percent of Israeli students reached the highest level of achievement in any of the three topics covered by the international PISA exam - reading, math and science - according to a special report issued by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development this week.
This is considerably worse than the international average: Overall, 18 percent of students scored at the highest level in at least one subject in the 2006 exam, on which the report is based.

No offense, Saif, but who cares?
ReplyDeleteI care Molly.
ReplyDeleteWhen you live in the region and you hear all day long about how wonderful and intelligent these hoodlums that took our country are and then you see just how lazy and ignorant they are.
Without U.S. aid they are nothing.
I'm not happy that the world is facing such terrible economic conditions but if it means less welfare money for these clowns in Israel that like to kill Palestinians for sport then lets see how far they can get ahead without the welfare.
And I thought it would be very obvious why any Arab would care about this myth of the "educated and advanced" Israelis.
ReplyDeleteIts some good news for people to start there weekend.
OK. I am rude. :(
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a telling statistic in that it reveals how the occupying Zionist State system is becoming more inefficient and corrupted...
ReplyDelete(anand) "The Zionist in disguise" would be interested.
ReplyDeleteAnd no doubt will bring in KSA,Iraq,Morocco,Tunisia,Lebanon,Egypt,UAE,Syria, and all the other Muslim nations.
Yes Marion well it has been very corrupted for to long as I dont think that a state that was born from the displacement of other people ever had the chance to be "pure".
ReplyDeleteBut let me say that the corruption is at all levels of its society.
I can speculate that because many of the Israelis that we see are recent immigrants from other countries where they did not have a good economic life according to the standards they want that they saw on television.
But the corruption is at all levels, with the youth in the military that do very disgusting things to people at the check points every day or the young soldiers that like to shoot people in the head for target practice at demonstrations utilizing non violence. Or the animals that committed those other plentiful war crimes in Gazza.
Then in the religious sector you have lunatics that go and beat pregnant Palestinian women in the streets do you remember I think I posted that vid here? The settlers shoot people, kidnap people, set houses on fire without a care if there are people inside.
Then in the government sector, the last President is being investigated for committing rape. The last Prime Minister for corruption and the current foreign minister for corruption.
Ok we have a lot of corruption in the Arab countries to, I cant think of any that are a good model.
But if I could live as a Palestinian with full human rights maybe I would choose Lebanon.
Syria too.
But these are not ideal best choices.
Theres one difference though in the Arab world we for the most part dont sanction what is happening we dont have a choice. They are for the most part (I exclude Lebanon) dictatorships.
But in Israel the corruption and undecent and inhuman behavior gets sanction every few years when that population keeps voting for the same crimes to keep occurring.
Thats a big difference I think.
I am not happy with the United States. I dont like the truly criminal things that they are doing in other countries. I dont think Obama is a big Magic Hero for the world and I dont have faith that anything for my people will change because of him.
But I can say this,,,,,, at least in the U.S.A. the people got disgusted by the immoral and criminal behavior of Bush and they made a "dramatic" (dramatic in American standards,,,yaani his father was a Muslim and his name is Barack Obama!) decision to change the leadership.
When did the Israelis ever do that?
Atleast it only took Americans 8 years of criminality!!!
anand will be surprised by the resuls.
ReplyDelete.
Maybe but that's good! It stimulates interesting discussions.
ReplyDelete.
I am very surprised. I think I will post this at MJT for comment. Are Israelis losing their secret sauce? {Or to put it more offensively, are Israelis becoming losers?}
ReplyDeleteIf the Israelis are losing their secret sauce, I think many countries will devalue their relationship with Israel over time.
What criminal things in America doing? America publicly opposes settlements. Do you mean the $3 billion in aid the US gives Israel every year?
ReplyDeleteActually, this is what happens when you have a racist nation - that not only makes differences from the indigenous population, but among themselves. They disenfranchise parts of their own population according to "race," because Zionism at heart is no different than white supremacy. 10% of the population owns 80+% of the wealth, in order to maintain this there has to be an intentional dumbing down process of the population.
