News from the "untermensch"
n"A 16-year-old Iraqi immigrant in central Sweden has single-handedly figured out a formula with Bernoulli numbers that is normally reserved for much more seasoned mathematicians, earning him praise from professors at prestigious Uppsala University." (more)

<span>"Washington — </span>For the first time in America’s decades of jousting with Israel over West Bank settlements, an American president seems to have succeeded in isolating the settlements issue and disconnecting it from other elements of support for Israel.
ReplyDeleteIt is a disentanglement now seen most clearly in Congress, which in the past served as Israel’s stronghold against administration pressure on the issue. But when Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu came to Capitol Hill for a May 18 meeting after being pressed by President Obama to freeze the expansion of West Bank settlements, he was “stunned,” Netanyahu aides said, to hear what seemed like a well-coordinated attack against his stand on settlements. The criticism came from congressional leaders, key lawmakers dealing with foreign relations and even from a group of Jewish members.
They included Massachusetts Democrat John Kerry, who heads the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; Democrat Carl Levin of Michigan, who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee; California Democrat Howard Berman, chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, and California Rep. Henry Waxman, a senior Democrat."

The U.N. Human Rights Council, proves itself, again, unworthy of the name and task.
"Sri Lanka claimed a propaganda victory last night after the United Nations Human Rights Council passed a resolution praising its defeat of the Tamil Tigers and condemning the rebels for using civilians as human shields.
China, India, Egypt and Cuba were among the 29 developing countries that backed a Sri Lankan-proposed resolution describing the conflict as a “domestic matter that doesn’t warrant outside interference”. The resolution also supported Colombo’s insistence on allowing aid group access to 270,000 civilians detained in camps only “as may be appropriate”.

I liked this comment on the article made by a certain Merdachai. Ha ha:
ReplyDelete"So American Jews who care about Israel should read articles like this and realize its not just Obama who is anti Israel but the entire leadership of the democratic party.
The left in America believes in its heart that Zionism is racism. Moveon.org, The Daily Kos and the rest of the left is viruntly anti Israel and supportive of terrorism against Israel.
The solution for American Jews is to start voting like Jews, for Republicans like Sarah Palin who are strong supporters of Israel and who recognize that the land of Israel is G-d's gift to the Jewish people.

This is lovely too:
ReplyDelete"I'll give a nickel to anyone who can find a shred of evidence that before 2008, Sarah Palin knew the difference between Hamas and Hummus."
Ha ha.

<p>Leading national religious rabbis called on soldiers Wednesday night to refuse orders that involve them in the destruction of Jewish hilltop communities and the expulsion of those living there.
<p>Their call sparked a protest in the mass media and among several political leaders, similar to the storm that raged over the same issue during the period of the expulsions from Gaza and northern Samaria in 2005 and in Amona two years ago.

<h1 class="NewsTitle">Police will Recommend Indicting Lieberman ‘within a Month'</h1>
ReplyDelete(IsraelNN.com) The Israel Police interrogated Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman Wednesday for the fifth time since he took office. The session lasted five and half hours and leaks that immediately followed it suggest that the police are tightening the noose around the Foreign Minister, and will recommend within a month’s time that the Prosecution press charges against him.
Besides questioning Lieberman over alleged money laundering and corruption, police investigators added a new item to their list of suspicions against the senior politician: obstruction of justice.

"Thoroughly modern Marx Pt.1
ReplyDeleteLeo Panitch: Marx was a realist; the real romantics think you can have capitalism without great crisis
Leo Panitch, economist and Professor at York University, talks to Paul Jay about the relevance of Marxist theories in studying today’s global economy. Panitch discusses the ideological crisis of the free market theory and notes that at this time “Marx would not be offering policy advice to governments about what is to be done in the face of this crisis; he would tell people to overcome their social isolation, form new collective organizations and identities, and make a social revolution.”

Incredible. Sri Lanka kills 20,000 civilians and the UN praises them. They get away with even more than Israel.
ReplyDeleteSri Lanka is has an "in," it is covered by one of the good ol' boy groups - India. It wants to be part of that national security state crew, which will never do anything of consequence for the people -
