SEEING THROUGH ALL THE PROPAGANDA ABOUT IRAN

Eric Margolis
"Highlighting the complexity of this crisis, Meir Dagan, the head of Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, reportedly voiced his hope that Iran’s embattled president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, would remain in office. On the surface, that sounds absurd, since Ahmadinejad is Israel’s Great Satan.

But, according to Dagan, if Ahmadinejad’s supposedly `moderate’ rival, Mir Hossein Mousavi, came to power, it would be harder for Israel to keep up its propaganda war against Iran over Tehran’s nuclear program."

"While the majority of protests we see in Tehran are genuine and spontaneous, Western intelligence agencies and  media are playing a key role in sustaining the uprising and providing communications, including the newest electronic method, via Twitter.  These are covert techniques developed by the US during recent revolutions in Ukraine and Georgia that brought pro-US governments to power."

Well, I consider that a good thing.  What were we supposed to do, shut down Twitter or Radio Farda or BBC Farsi?
We did something similar with the communication technology of the times for the countries behind the Iron Curtain.

  3. Just because you have avenues of communication does not mean you exploit it vza, or try to turn it into some media circus by spotlighting it in order to destabilize the country.  Now, while there is going to be concern for what is happening there, it does not mean to try to drive what is going on there or to so interpret it so the country is endangered.

  5. How has this been done V?

Keep in mind that Obama was trying to form a partnership or even an alliance with Khamenei and Ahmenijad before the Iranian elections. He was surprised by the Iranian protests.

  7. Talk is cheap anand. Pres. Obama talking about having unconditional talks with Iran while the government he is supposed to be running  is continuing to threaten the Iranian state with sanctions and possible force is not trying to form a partnership or even an alliance with Khameini and Ahmedinejad....

How do you know that Obama was surprised by the Iranian protests considering the 400 million covert operation package put together by the Bush administration that I am assuming he knew about and helped pass in Congress anand:

  8. Marion, America and Iran are fighting the same Takfiri. Both Iran and America are strong supporters of the Iraqi Government and Afghan Government. Iran and America share many common interests and values.

Obama proposed a partnership to coordinate Iranian and American actions to achieve shared objectives. In fact, the Iranian election protests messed up Obama's plans. Obama planned to endorese Ahmenijad and begin a strategic dialogue after the elections.

  9. Obama can propose what he likes Anand, it is ever a two-faced position to act like you want to work together with a country, and than set the media dogs on them and release special ops in a country. In other words it does not matter what Obama "says," but what is done by the machine and its component parts.  Someone can cry peace and change all day long, and if the empire continues on the same course it does not mean a hill of beans - it is rank hypocrisy and a mere worthless show.

  11. Divided we lose Marion. United we win. You remember what OBL and Zawahiri said Iran and Nasrallah. Only if we unite together can we defeat them.

    Why don't you favor a US/Iranian alliance? I do.

Is the only reason you don't favor a US/Iranian alliance because of Palestine?

If America was more pro Palestine, then you would favor a US/Iranian alliance? This makes little sense. For example India is a close ally and friend of Israel while remaining a friend of Iran. India works closely with Iran to help the Afghan Government and President Karzai. India also works with Iran to fight Takfiri (terrorists who mass murder Indian and Iranian civilians.) Do you think that Khamenei should suspend Iran's relationship with India? Do you think that Khamenei should suspend its relationship with China and Russia because China and Russia are Israeli friends?

Is it hypocritical for Nasrallah to be friends with China, India and Russia? If Nasrallah can be friends with them, why can't Nasrallah be friends with America too?

  14. anand as long as the governments of the Gulf states,  and Jordan and Egypt continue to be considered in our foreign policy as moderate  U.S. allies and Iran as a terrorist supporting state, it is extremely difficult for me  to believe that "America and Iran are fighting the same Takfiri".

Because America always puts the no resistance to Israel condition on its friendships with Middle Eastern countries and people anand. And because China, India, and Russia do not nor are they trying to control the region. They also do not interfere in the internal affairs of the countries of the Middle East region for the benefit of Zionist Israel anand...

  16. Marion, do you realize that Russia, India and China are all close friends with Israel?

China is the largest trading, investment and business collaboration partner of Saudi Arabia and many other Sunni Arab dictatorships. India and Russia are also huge investors and trading partners with most of the middle east countries. All of them exercise great influence over all the Arab countries. Do you really think that Saudi Arabia doesn't have to listen to China? China buys more oil from Saudi Arabia than any other country, including America.

Marion, think about this deeply. Trust your own instincts. Hezbollah tries to reach out to China and India because Hezbollah regards them as great emerging global superpowers. Hezbollah doesn't care about their close friendship with Israel; because Hezbollah benefits from its relationship with China and India. Why can't Nasrallah become friends with the US as well?

  17. I would like America to ally with Iran rather than the Sunni Arab dictatorships. This is one of the main reasons I favor a US Iranian partnership. If Iran and the US made up, then Iran wouldn't be certified as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The way I see it, the only real differences between Iran and US interests, values and perspectives is with respect to Israel. What other differences do we have?

  18. Sorry Anand, siding with the US makes you a supreme terrorist, the USA is one of the worse state terrorists in the world.  As usual you do not know what state terrorism is, and Israel is running a close second -
