Secrets of History: The CIA in Iran

"# Iranians working for the C.I.A. and posing as Communists harassed religious leaders and staged the bombing of one cleric's home in a campaign to turn the country's Islamic religious community against Mossadegh's government."

  1. I don't know what this means. Some Iranians got money from America. They acted as they pleased with the money.

Since SCIRI/Badr and Dawa got money from America and Iran, was everything they did actually done by America or done by Iran?

The communists were disliked by many Iranians because of the Soviet occupation of Iran in the 1940s. There was a lot of stuff done against the communists, probably by:
    - Shia clerics
    - Bazaris (business people)
    - army
    - farmers who owned farms (and therefore were against the communists)

Shia clerics have long been against atheistic communists. It wasn't only because of the Soviet occupation of Iran. For that matter, most organized religions tend to be anti communist.

  3. v, what part of my statement do you disagree with? Do you deny that there was intense anti Soviet and anti communist sentiment in Iran in 1953?
