Israeli settlers expelling Arabs from East Jerusalem homes
Orthodox Israeli settlers, backed by soldiers and police, attacked Palestinian residents of the Sadiyya neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem Sunday evening, four days after the settler group invaded the home of the Jabir family and extra-judicially evicted them.

"A more subdued response to Israel's continued occupation and colonization of East Jerusalem has come from US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who recently called Israel's house demolition orders there "unhelpful, and not in keeping with the obligations entered into under the 'road map.'" Under international law, the military occupation, settlement construction and accelerated annexation of Palestinian neighborhoods and villages in occupied East Jerusalem is illegal."
ReplyDelete"Unhelpful"? That is the extent of Clinton's response? This is disgusting. Every American needs to know this story.
I am of the same mind as Mearsheimer on this point - if you think this administration is going to effectively criticize Israel, you "live in Disneyland." They catered to this contingency going into the Presidential campaign, and continue to do so afterward.
ReplyDeletev, I agree with you. Obama will not change anything but he will make more of a show trying. The other day when Obama gave his "grand" remarks he said expects Netanyahu to accept the "principle" of a Palestinian state,,, even Bush made more of comittment than this guy.
ReplyDeleteSaif, he is a better liar than Bush. He tells you that he loves you while he screws you.
ReplyDeleteWill Obama declare Netanyahu a man of peace when the latter visits Washington at the end of this month? That should put him on a par with Bush when he declared Sharon a 'man of peace' during his first presidency.
ReplyDeleteThere will be no difference. Obama has no say in this. Anyone who believes otherwise has no idea what's holding the US policy makers by the testes.
