Palestinian sources in the southern West Bank city of Hebron reported on Thursday at night that a group of extremist Israeli settlers of Beit Ein settlement attacked a number of homes in Safa village, near the city.
The sources added that at least twenty armed settlers opened fire at a number of homes and set ablaze and agricultural land.
Dozens of residents tried to stop the settlers and gathered in the street of the village to defend their homes.
Later on, Israeli soldiers arrived in the area and closed roads linking Safa village with the nearby Beit Ummar town.
Settlers of Beit Ein settlement carried repeated attacks over the last two weeks and uprooted hundreds of olive and almond trees, in addition to uprooted grapevines that belong to the villagers.

Well Vza as you know the soldiers are controlled by the military which is controlled by the decisions of the government.
ReplyDeleteBefore the soldiers allowed it to happen and today the soldiers allow it to happen because the Israeli leadership past and present supported and encouraged the continued theft of Palestinian land by any means necc. including allowing those terrorist settlers run wild like savage animals acting in such a way.
I find individuals who make statements about "how the Israeli government allow these settlers to act this way," to either be completely ignorant of what is taking place there or totally disingenuous. Occupation is the official view and sanction of the Israeli government, and there are no exceptions left or right.
ReplyDeleteDo you think it was any different in colonial USA? Do you think they protected the indigenous population? The exact opposite is attested to by almost complete extinction - when the census finally was taken to include the indigenous population in the late 19th century it had declined from approximately from 15-18 million down to less than a million!
