US President Barack Obama has signed the foreign aid budget law for 2010 which includes the granting of $2.775 billion in security aid to Israel.
----------
Money($500m)is also granted to the Palestinian Authority but with many strings attached:
The conditions include recognizing Israel, renouncing violence and accepting past agreements signed with Tel Aviv
Is the aid to Israel also granted under the condition to "renounce violence " ? (Rhetorical question)

why don't we stop spending billions on wars and foreign aid to war mongering nations and spend it instead of health care for americans? that would make too much sense I guess.

There's a French maxim which runs like this.." You don't make good literature with good sentiments" (On ne fait pas de la bonne literature avec des bons sentiments). Maybe it expands itself to englobe politics too! However, I'm not sure the outcome is good politics too.
ReplyDeleteAlso to remind them of what they're supposed to do. The Us is training the Palestinian special forces who are used effectively as it seems, to crack down on the opposition, mainly Hamas supporters..
