Riot cops in Athens attack seniors

Riot cops in Athens attack the elderly: in the top photo, the 90 year-old man being assaulted by riot cops is Manolis Glezos, a Greek national hero for tearing the swastika flag down from the Acropolis in May 1941--for which he was jailed & tortured. It was the first public act of the Resistance in Greece a month after the Nazi take-over. Mr. Glezos is being attacked while protesting the IMF/EU austerity program. In the bottom photo, an unidentified Greek senior, also protesting attacks on working people, is viciously tear gassed in the face by a cop.
