Pakistani troops aid Bahrain's crackdown (Saudi Arabia and the US must be loving it!)

Foundation linked to the Pakistani army has been providing Bahrain thousands of soldiers for its crackdown on protests.

In March, as a government crackdown on pro-democracy protestors intensified in Bahrain, curious advertisements started appearing in Pakistani media.

"Urgent requirement - manpower for Bahrain National Guard," said one.

"For service in Bahrain National Guard, the following categories of people with previous army and police experience are urgently needed," said another, with "previous experience" and "urgent need" underscored.

The categories included: former army drill instructors, anti-riot instructors, retired military police, and former army cooks.

In the following two months, on the back of visits to Islamabad by senior Saudi and Bahraini officials, sources say at least 2,500 former servicemen were recruited by Bahrainis and brought to Manama, increasing the size of their national guard and riot police by as much as 50 per cent.

  1. The wise Iraqi Mojo has been on top of this from the start. The Pakistani Army, Saudis, UAE, Jordanians, Qataris, Bahrainis, Kuwaitis, Omanis, have been occupying and oppressing the freedom loving Bahraini people.

While Obama has publicly criticized them. He and America is too scared to stand up to KSA and Pakistan. Their lobby is strong yes, but this is embarrassing.

Yes we don't have as much power as we use to be, but to grovel at the feet of KSA and the Pak army?

America, we need to stand up for ourselves again. Stand up for our own interests and values. Stand up for freedom's cause in Bahrain. For too long [decades] we have let foreigners walk all over us and kick us around. I know we aren't strong enough to stop it over night. But we should make a start. Might as well be Bahrain.

The Gulfie Takfiri sympathizers are not America's friends. Nor are extremists who live in Pakistan. When will be get this through our heads. The people who are are friends are the people of Bahrain and the Arab masses. Stop the sectarian madness in Bahrain.

  2. KSA and Pakistan have always been close allies. And they the extremist parts of their establishments have manipulated America for their own purposes, manipulating America to do their own bidding [advancing their own interests and using America to harm America.]

In private they hate America and plan America's destruction.

The wise TGIA said "US must be loving this." I was trying to understand your statement. Do you mean America likes that the Pakistani army is crushing Bahraini freedom strugglers so that the extremists parts of the Pakistani Army can't focus on mass muderring Afghans, Americans, Russians, Shiites, Europeans, Australians and Indians? Is this what you mean? If so, that would be supremely short sighted.

  3. TGIA, notice how the left hasn't done jack for Bahrain. Why? The pro Bahrain sentiment is coming from Iraqis [that Arabs and many western leftists love to hate], Iranians [that Arabs love to hate], and a few discredited neocons and conservatives who lack influence in Europe and America.

Some good people like the Mojo are trying to convince the world to do the right thing. But almost no one in the world is talking about it.

    Why?

Stand up for Bahraini freedom now.
