Israeli government approves plan which will "eliminate Palestinian identity"

MK Ahmed Al Tibi: 'Israelis lack confidence in the veracity of their own historical and cultural narrative.'

The Israeli government has approved the formation of a committee to "Judaise" the names of Palestinian towns and historical sites. According to one Arab member of the Knesset (parliament), this is "part of a project to eliminate Palestinian identity". MK Ahmed Al Tibi claimed that such a move indicates that the Israelis lack confidence in the veracity of their own historical and cultural narrative.

  1. Very wiered. Why change ancient names? Israel has long been an Abrahamic country. Jews and Arabs have common roots. Plus half or more of Israelis are Arabs.

  2. Reminiscent of Victorian Ireland. The British Ordnance Survey mapping of that country involved recording of the original Irish place names in addition to English language names. When it was realised that the old names often identified the original families from whom  the land had been stolen the whole project was scrapped.

  3. How typical.

The British caused the property rights disputes in Palestine 1918-1948.

British judges should rule and determine all the property rights dispute that precede 1948 independents from British oppression.

Then market rate compensation should be paid to everyone who has been wronged.

Justice from all, even if the oppressor is Great Britain.

Anything that disculps Israel from any wrong doing, stealing land, you go by it! It's amazing that you'd think that we do not see your little game here! You disgust me!

  5. You still don't get it. The British mind. Divide and Conquer.

They confused everyone. Convinced multiple investors and owners that a particular property belonged to them. Then provoked everyone to fight with each other.

One reason property rights are so confused in Palestine and Israel is because the British are not sharing their records. [Even the wise and good Turks are not. But I think their intentions are more noble.]

Maybe the motive was jealousy? Maybe the British feared that Palestine and Israel might far exceed them in success, prosperity, technology, military capacity, institutions, love, character, culture and values.

Israel's anti free market big government big regulation socialist policies restricting private sector growth in Palestine is also wrong. As is the ILA [Israeli Land Association] confiscation of private sector property paying below market rates.

As you probably know TGIA, about 93% of all Israeli land [ within '67 borders] are owned by ILA through eminent domain. The ILA is outrageous.

No I don't work for Mossad. Nor do I work for Mi6. I do wonder who someone else works for. [Not TGIA, Molly, CSS, Tony, Zara, Yasmin]
