Most Palestinians and Israelis willing to accept two-state solution, poll finds

I guess they did not ask the refugees living in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and...NYC.

  1. Yasmin, I read this and thought of you: <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px;">"Look, break-ups are awful ... They really suck on lots of levels, but what I think is great about life is that the universe always brings you something really beautiful and great afterward."</span>

  2. Way to make someone feel better, Joe!

  3. Well if she is waiting for that magical thing for the universe to bring her, and it doesn't come, then it could make matters worse. But if she just remains as focused as she can, and doesn't do anything crazy or self destructive, she'll make it through this hard time ok.

  4. OK.  I don't think people should wait around for magical stuff, just wanted to remind her that love is possible again.

  7. Or happiness, I should say, not just love.

  8. Of course many in both camps are willing to see a two-state solution but its not a question of goodwill on both sides anymore. The simple fact is that for two states to exist in the region you only have these alternatives, and none of them is acceptable: 1. You either have two states that will not have enough water and land to achieve their full development; 2. Or you have one strong and viable state (Israel, of course), and a collection of tiny bantustans with no real sovereignty at all (Palestine, of course). Those of you who envision a two-state solution, take your pick folks, or please explain to the rest of us how it could be otherwise.

  9. Sigh!...listen Anand, desalinization is immensely expensive and very taxing on the environment. It's simply not a real solution. Zionists know it well enough to just play along, paying lip service to a peaceful solution leading to two states. They calculate that little by little Palestinian bantustans will fade away while they continue to push with impunity their land grabbing agenda. See, settlers are not a wacko fringe in Israel, but the true cutting edge of the Zionist sword. Israel is a settler state, founded upon racist notions and colonialist delusions on steroids, and thus, settlers and their repugnant practices and worldview are just the most clear expression of the true essence of the rogue state. An independent Palestine doesn't stand a chance as long as such entity unilaterally dictates the terms of "peace".

  11. Molly, joking aside, I had to reinstall the whole thing. It's no more accessible with your username and password but with mine. I'll be sending you details.

  12. Yeah, I'm too pessimistic, so why can't the moon be made out of cheese?

BTW, check all territorial expansion of Israel inside the West Bank, and you will see that it almost invariably coincides with the strategic location of most forms of access to underground water tables. Gee, I wonder why? I guess it all boils down to the fact that I'm a pessimistic and jealous guy...hey, no comments on the dad of the girl who appears in Slumdog Millionaire trying to sell his daughter for $400, 000? Well, what the heck, I suppose those are the types of things that happen to a country when it turns into a mega-ultra-duper-superpower.

  14. "My hope is that Israeli and Palestinian technologists will collaborate to develop new technologies that will reduce global poverty"

Let us know how that works out.

  15. The answer to desalinization expense is using tidal power, however as Moy said that is not the goal of the Zionists.  Quite frankly, it is not the goal of those who push energy intensive plants for the process, their goal is to bury a people in debt in the process, or to give the appearance of looking in that direction like Israel. What Israel wants to do is steal all water resources, they even cross borders to do this (see Lebanon), and thereby contribute to the extinction of the Palestinians. Quite frankly Anand, people are just plain tired of your nonsense, why don't you give your fingers a rest from the keyboard for a while.

  16. In the final analysis the demographics do not favor a two state solution.  There must be a one state solution (however conceived), and when it is accomplished if the Zionists want to continue their course, they will be just be beating themselves up. The formula of a single state not only answers the current issues in the sense of viability and equality, it kills Zionism in one fell swoop.

  17. You could have had a state yk, but you wasted it by being totally illegitimate, and becoming genocidal maniacs.

  18. "You could have had a state yk, but you wasted it by being totally illegitimate, and becoming genocidal maniacs."

LOL -- dang, I hate when that happens 8-)

On a serious note, my fear is that the two-state solution is a cover for yet more oppression and marginalization of the Palestinians. This is the stance the U.S. supports and I'm sorry to say that when it comes to U.S. policy in the ME (or Latin America, or....well anyway) we have a bad tendency to support the wrong side. So I'm not persuaded by any of this in the least and still think that a one-state solution is the only viable, honest, moral, and workable one. But I know it's a hard sell, even now.

  19. There will only be one state- Israel.

Why do you care so much then? Why not just relax inside your compound, drink whisky, bathe in your nice swimming pool, take lots of sun, laugh and enjoy life while on endless imperial welfare?

Me thinks someone is being disingenuous here...and of course, totally unconvincing.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What do you mean you don't live inside a compound? You are not in Israel then as you have been pretending all along?

Hum, I wonder about those 18 working hrs. Does cheap propaganda, beating on Palestinian children and women, engaging in pointless debates on the Torah, cash your welfare check, etc., while your Arab servants do all the really hard tasks, count as work too?

And you didn't answer my question: if you are so convinced about your collective fate, why waste your "precious" time here? Sounds contradictory, to say the least.

  21. i am afraid you are full of shit definitively about genocide, it does not require the extermination of an entire people (we are still here). You might get away with that bullshit with someone else, but not with me. Perhaps it is time for you to re-think who you are corresponding with, have I ever given the impression that i would swallow bullshit? My recommendation is that you do not follow up this post unless you want your ass verbally handed to you.
