Where rebels are born & bred

An infant sleeps in a hammock in the makeshift tent of her family displaced by the 2010 Pakistan floods. In the midst of all the squalor of a tent city lacking the basic amenities of sanitation for toilet, shower, & laundry, human life & love go on. According to the Pakistani government, 20 million people were directly affected by the flooding through loss of property, livelihood, crops, & livestock. Such catastrophes bring out the international sharks & grifters who through various agencies & NGOS go after the millions pledged in aid (though much that is pledged is undelivered). Where is the accounting for that money & why is housing not a first priority? Life may go on in such squalor but so also is rebellion generated.  (Photo by Muhammed Muheisen)
