When Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah spoke to the public earlier this week, he took up the issue of United Nations resolutions. Nasrallah turned to the side and read from a paper, citing the statistic that Israel has committed more than 7,000 Israeli violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, since it was issued to end the July War of 2006. The Hizbullah leader issued the standard call for fairness in such matters, objecting to the idea that some countries and groups are pressured relentlessly to adhere to international resolutions, while others can get away with repeated violations.
