Pro-settler Santorum claims Mexico and the West Bank

Unraveling the GOP candidate's baffling statements about Israel and the Palestinians

Rick Santorum

“The bottom line is, that [the West Bank] is legitimately Israeli country, and they [the Israelis] have a right to do within their country just like we have a right to do within our country; if they want to negotiate with Israeli, with Israelis—and all the people that live within the West Bank are Israelis, they’re not Palestinians, there is no Palestinian; there is, this is, Israeli land, and therefore they have a right to negotiate what they believe is in the best interests of their country, and they have a right to build things based upon their ownership of that land.”

  1. They think that they have to take this position to win the "Christian Zionist" vote, but this guy actually seems to be one himself.  I wonder if he'll advocate the Iran invasion.

  3. Buh, VAA and TGIA, does Santorum support a one state solution? Extending Israeli citizenship to all Palestinians? If so, many Palestinians would support Santorum's position on Palestine.

Or is Santorum unfamiliar with the Palestine Israel question?

To be fair, I have read many books and Palestine and Israel and I find much of it very confusing and contradictory. And I am not stupid [despite some insinuations to the contrary on this bloc.] If I find it confusing, it is possible that Santorum also does.

Is it against your religious believes to read the post ?
I quote him again Santorum  said, among other things, “all the people who live in the West Bank are Israelis, they’re not Palestinians.”
How thick can you be to suggest "If so, many Palestinians would support Santorum's position on Palestine" . This is like asking someone's consent before murdering him
Can you name one book (only one) that you've read about I/P. ?

What are those books you read, anan? Authors?

  6. By the way, don't confuse confusion with ignorance. Yours is rather the latter.

  7. If you think the garbage coming out of Santorum's mouth with any sort of coherent policy based in reality, then you are mistaken. It's merely extreme rhetoric pandering to a diminsihing constituency. He talks this way about everything-he's especially associated with his ridiculous comments on homosexuality. The good news is he is considered a "walking joke in a sweater vest" (comedian Andy Borowitz) and has no chance of winning.
The bad news is the main threat to Palestine comes from benevolant liberals and compassionate conservatives who have been using the "piece process"-where Palestine is being brutally dismembered piece by piece, while such vital issues as the wording of the Hamas charter are debated.
