Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice. Passive acceptance of evil is not a virtue.

Newt Gingrich gets $5 million from über-Zionist Sheldon Adelson for his "Palestinians are invented people" assertion
Sheldon Adelson
Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson has donated $5 million to a super political action committee that supports Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, the Washington Post reported.
How do you know Sheldon Adelson is anti Palestinian?
You don't know much about the man, do you? It's widely known that Sheldom Adelson is a an ultra Zionist and a contributor to the settlement business. Sheldon Adelson to Birthright group: Gingrich is right to call Palestinians 'invented people'
Addressing a Hanukkah celebration for hundreds of youths visiting Israel as part of the Taglit Birthright program on Sunday, Adelson said, “Read the history of those who call themselves Palestinians, and you will hear why [Newt] Gingrich said recently that the Palestinians are an invented people. There are a number of Palestinians who will recognize the truth of this statement.”
More for our candid "guest" who doesn't believe that scum who goes by the name Sheldon Adelson is a supporter of Israeli right wing, in fact far right by any other standard outside Israel.:
Adelson, who ranked eighth in Forbes’s 2011 list of the richest Americans, is chairman and CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., which owns casinos in Las Vegas and Macau, China. He has been a major funder of Taglit-Birthright Israel, which sends young Diaspora Jews on free trips to Israel, and has been among the most significant American supporters of Netanyahu. In 2007 he launched a free right-of-center newspaper in Israel called Israel Hayom.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know about Sheldon Adelson.
I think you exaggerate how much Americans know about and care about Palestine Israel. Most Americans have little to no curiousity or knowledge about it. Positions on this issue have little impact on whether they get elected or not to public office.
"Positions on this issue have little impact on whether they get elected or not to public office." Perhaps so, but then why do almost all US senators and other representatives make such exaggerated declarations of undying love for the pariah state? $5 million looks like a good price for one's spine and one's conscience. For the meaning of that last word, kuttá, consult a dictionary.
The news is filled today with the fact that Newt Gingrich's campaign has been revived by ultra-Zionist Sheldon Adelson's $5 million contribution to a Gingrich Super PAC.
National Public Radio says that South Carolina television stations will soon be pouring out ads attacking Romney. NPR reporters gave Adelson's Israel cause just one vague phrase, but the New York Times is more forthcoming: in the jump, it says that Gingrich's recent statement that Palestinians are an invented people paid off for him.

It does not matter how many millions they give him, he will not be elected.
ReplyDeleteThat may be true but that wasn't the point of the post. It really shows how the lobby works.

ReplyDeleteGingrich probably got the support because he surged in the polls. What else do you expect?

If you love Palestinians than you need to love Israelis too. They have a symbiotic relationship.
