Transfer of Arabs from the Palestinian Authority to actual Arab countries was the most popular solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, according to a poll this week by Israel National News. Of the more than 6,400 people surveyed, 53.2 said 'Transfer of Palestinians to another Arab country' when asked, "What's the best solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict?"
The "two-states for two peoples" solution being pushed by the United States and the international community received 30.8 percent support, while the idea of giving Palestinians Jordanian citizenship was approved by 14.5 percent. Maintaining the status quo received 1.3 percent of the vote.

Anti Jewish hatred is deep seated in Europe, especially Spain. I don't think the Jews would like to move to Europe. Maybe they might move to India and greatly benefit the Indian economy and Indian culture.

I bet a LOT of Israelis would like to move to Europe. Frankly, if you gave all Israelis American or European citizenship, there would probably be no more conflict. That's the Molly solution.

But Molly isn't it already the case? Most Israelis came from either Europe( West and East) or the US. Don't they keep their previous country's citizenship?
I heard many Palestinians say that they would NEVER leave even in the current awful situation. One of them is Mohammad Omar the journalist who was awarded last year. Now I don't believe the Israelis "love" the land. Some may feel a connection to it from a religious point of view but for the others they just take it for granted. It's "theirs".

Molly, Muary's solution is to offer either the Palestinians or the Israelis Montana. Whowever got Montana and left Palestine would be the lucky party. Montana is much larger, has better weather, much safer, and much nicer.

The Arabs are more emotional and think more in terms of right and wrong, honor and dishonor, rather than rational long term interests. Nothing necessarily wrong about that.
ReplyDeleteIranians think more in terms of long term interests and less about right and wrong moralizing; if I could phrase it like that. Iranians might be more like Israelis or Asians in this sense? Iranian culture is also very different from Arab culture. Iranians are Aryans like South Asians. They share a common mother language of Vedic Samhita/Avesta.
This isn't a good or bad judgement. Iranians are quite different from Arabs. Indians are closer to Iranians than to Arabs. After all Pharsi was India's national language from 1192 AD to 1858 AD when the British replaced Pharsi with english.
TGIA, if you talk about Israel/Palestine with most Asians; they have little interest in the details. It quickly boils down to what would be the consequences for them to do business with the Israelis and/or the Arabs. It is more cost benefit analysis. Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, probably other Asians too.
This is why I keep telling you that the Palestinians need to market themselves differently in the nonmuslim world, and even parts of the muslim world. Palestinians need to explain how a successful Palestinian state would benefit other countries; and why other countries should consider changing their close relations with Israel.
TGIA, I find this attitude disturbing sometimes. If I were to try to talk to Asians about social justice issues, I wouldn't get very far. Nonwesterners seem less interested in this type of thing. Is this your observation too?
Talk to them about the new Chrome Operating System that Google just released, and then they would be all ears.

Also I don't get the difference you make between Indiand and Pakistanis? Aren't they the same people with a different religion? Again, is it religion which makes Pakistanis less rational sophisticated, reliable etc. than Indians? Answer that please!!
By the way I have an idea who's the least rational person I ever met.. But I'll let you guess who he is!

Yes Indians and Pakistanis were quite alike in the 1940s. My hope is that Pakistanis are now converging to become more like India.
TGIA, maybe I am wrong about my Arab generalization. However, Arabs seem to emphasize economic growth and business less than others. A lot like Indians use to between the 1940s and 1970s.
In one way this is positive. Arabs are less money minded and selfish.
