  2. I'm beginning to feel very uneasy about these public statements made by British Army generals. It's getting like Turkey over here. I'm beginning to wonder how long before we have a military coup.
We don't need a bloodstained and bemedalled barrack-room lawyer to tell us that Blair's a war criminal.

  4. I could be exaggerating.
When politicians commit their country's forces to a war they can't win there's bound to be some attempt to shift the blame. Especially so when the generals warned the government beforehand that the war was unwinnable.
But tough, that's the life they chose. Nobody forced them to join up.
I come from a generation for which military service was compulsory (with exceptions). And my father's generation was conscripted to fight a war. I have no sympathy for professional soldiers who bemoan their lot. We're hearing a lot about men being sent to fight with inferior equipment. Tell that to the Pentagon. Let them equip the mercenaries who are serving for the American Empire.
Blair is a war criminal, but hearing a general say so doesn't make him any more of one, especially when the thought occurs that the general might be covering his own arse.
