Girl Tree 1989-1991 by Euan Uglow ( 1932 – 2000) Paul Carbone, ChicagoAn artist friend called me from Paris this morning (early!) to say hello..I had met him at art school and inevitably we started reminiscing..One thing lead to another and we went on talking about our today's excitements ..He mentioned a couple of artists that I've heard of very vaguely but to my surprise he had never heard of Euan Uglow..That he, a well read and an immense art lover to ignore this giant came as a surprise to me and alerted me to the fact it's not enough to be considered an absolute master by many specialists in order to make an artist better known by a wider public.. A shame..Here's my little contribution..
