Painful, no! Excuriatingly, agonisingly so, is more accurate!!

Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice. Passive acceptance of evil is not a virtue.
why did i think it was the more humane way?
ReplyDeleteBecause we the "ad".. Personally I never believed this "painless" business crap!

ReplyDeleteMe neither. Why not become vegetarian?
ReplyDeleteMy son is and I'm not a huge meat eater. Actually I'm eating less and less of it. I'm an evolving to becoming a vegetarian.

ReplyDeletePut an end to all of it.
ReplyDeleteI remember TGIA. Kudos to your son. I am a vegetarian too. I couldn't eat meet after I turned 5 (maybe 4?) because of the suffering of animals when they were murdered for food.
ReplyDeleteThere are many good reasons to outlaw meat, not just on humantitarian grounds. There are health, economic, and environmental reasons for "the invisible hand" to come up with a meat substitute that actually tastes like meat, and that people will actually want to eat. But I kind on think it is bullshit when they pick out a minority for the majority to make special rules for when the majority is guilty of the same behavior. If you think conventional slaughter is humane, then you have never seen a Peta video. It reminds me of how the whole world wants to express its concern for gay rights by focusing on Iran. Also, creating a new food source is very important, and if it turns into a pissing match between Orthodox rabbis and vegetarians, the whole issue would seem so small.
ReplyDeleteBeen a vegetarian since I was a teenager also. I really hate the people who say "Oh, kids always feel that way, then they grow out of it," as if making a moral choice about the food you eat is some kind of whacky temper tantrum.
