United States admits tackling Italians over payments to the Taleban

The US Government acknowledged for the first time yesterday that payment of protection money to the Taleban by Italian forces in Afghanistan was discussed by American officials and their Italian counterparts last year.

  1. Many Italians have died alongside their brave ANA and ANP partners, including in recent months.

In a joint operation near Herat in the last two weeks with the ANA and ANP, an Italian sniper killed the largest non Pashtun Afghan Taliban leader Akbari. This was a big victory for the GIRoA and ANSF.

I think a lot of the attacks on Italy are unfair. There are many organized crime outfits that are paid off by many people, Afghan and nonAfghan. Many self proclaimed "Taliban" are really organized crime operations.
