6 Signs That the American Empire Is Coming to an Early End

The day of America's global pre-eminence is over. We must face the new global realities.
Memo to the CIA: You may not be prepared for time-travel, but welcome to 2025 anyway! Your rooms may be a little small, your ability to demand better accommodations may have gone out the window, and the amenities may not be to your taste, but get used to it. It's going to be your reality from now on.

1. These are all telling signs, however there is one issue which the author has overlooked. Let me preface it by saying that you are more than willing to look at my site, and see that long before any dates of closure I have a 100% record of predicting correctly what is going to take place, but if there is any thing that I wish I was wrong about it is what I am about to say.

The one area that the author (Sachs) forgot to mention is that precarious period just before the decline of empre, when it is most explosive. It has been mentioned also by Chalmers Johnson in his book the "Sorrows Of Empire" - and that is plunging the world into another world war. This is always done with the high financial partners of international banking, as can repeatedly be seen in the other two world wars.

Now, you may ask "why would they do that?" The reason why it is done is because destruction of everything is the only way to build, and to ensure the positions of elite strength. That is, in order to hold positions of the few, they would rather plunge all of humanity into a world conflagration - so that they can crush any upsurge by other rivals and decrease the population by force meaning that they do not need to fulfill any of the peoples needs around the world.

So, you can call me crazy - and I hope I am, but if you begin to see these things unfold (and this is not because I am a mystical prophet, but because I know how these individuals work), remember where you heard it first (and also remember that all the world wars started during democratic administrations - WW1, WW2, Korean War, Viet Nam, and with the least :) . likely individuals).

3. This must give rise to all sorts of glee....even the guy..er.. professor writing it can barely contain his joy. Well, enjoy. I am always happy to see others happy even when they are happy about an illusion.

4. vza:

Do you have any idea at all what is going on all around you? I'm afraid you won't feel the heat until the flames are at your door.

5. Tell me, Joe. What is going on around me that has not gone on around me in times past, before I was born, and will again in future times? We have tons of problems which we will tackle, as we always do. You have so little faith in your country's people and their resilency and basic decency? I don't deal in doom and gloom. Have you been to Pointe Du Hoc? Or Thomas Edison's home and museum in Florida? Or Cape Canaveral? Or the Cleveland Clinic? One visit to any of those places and you will never doubt what this country's people can and will do when it is needed. What we do not need are whiners.

9. I think you're mistaking one issue for another, vza. While the existence of the US as a country is not in question, the US empire (Title of the article) is likely to fall as all empires in the past. Nothing outlandish here?
While the British Empire is some of the past, Britain is alive and well. Sort of.

11. First of all...let's get one thing very clear. There will always be an England. :)

My second comment was in response to Joe who said I was not aware of what was going on around me and something about feeling the flames when they are at my door.

13. This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England

From Richard II, Act 2 (Shakespeare)

14. I know what you mean Tgia. But I disagree with the article. My basic response is....Don't be so sure..... This America in decline baloney pops up every twenty years or so and it is always proved wrong. We are NOT an empire in the traditional sense and in fact became one by accident. We have never had all the power and influence attributed to us in the first place! Look at how DeGaulle used to poke us in the eye on a regular basis!
The professor points to the rejection of Chicago for the Olympics as one of the signs. What utter nonsense! South America had never hosted an Olympics and Rio was going to get it no matter what anybody else offered.
There is still no economy or nation with the flexibility and dynamism of the U.S. We will decline...one day... but it is wishful thinking to hope for it anytime soon.

15. Btw, Tgia..I saw on another thread that you mentioned a sister in London. If you visit her, do try to make a trip to the Dulwich Picture Gallery. It is the oldest gallery in England and is a jewel! It is not far from central London. A ride on the Tube and one bus will get you there in no time.

16. She's back in Sydney now vza. Married with children. But if I go to Europe I'll make sure this Gallery will be on my list of must visit. Besides I'm aching to see the Louvres..for the 100th time..I can't get over the idea that I can't be visiting it on a regular basis as I used to do. And the Musee d'Orsay and the...etc..

17. I actually have faith in the decency and resilincy of the American people-that's why I think they will eventually kick back against the trillion dollar bailouts, endless wars, foreclosure epicemic, etc. It's you who thinks we are a bunch of sheep walking silently to the slaughterhouse.

Also, the best way to ensure a gloomy and doomy future is to ignore all our problems and when the topic comes up, talk about how inspiring a visit to Thomas Edison's workshop is. By the way it's in New Jersey, not Florida. I guess you haven't been there either.

And how about all those passengers who whined when the Titanic went down?

ReplyDelete
18. Tsk Tsk. There is one in Florida, too, Joe. You really must get around more.

19. Well, he did all his important work in Menlo Park and vacationed and retired in Fort Myers...But that wasn't what my comment was about...and you know it.

20. Happy Trails to you!

21. Well then, this wasn't what MY comment was about either, pal!

22. Okay is this better: Joyfully going to the slaughterhouse singing the praise of Thomas Edison?

ReplyDelete
23. Only if you sing it, Joe!

ReplyDelete
24. Sorry, I'm not planning to walk into a slaughterhouse.

But really vza, you seem like a nice enough person, but when on one post you talk about your latest vacation, and on your next post you make fun of people for "whining" about losing their homes and other signs of the times, you don't seem so nice.

ReplyDelete
25. and on your next post you make fun of people for "whining" about losing their homes and other signs of the times, you don't seem so nice.

Excuse me? Please tell me exactly when I made fun of people losing their homes?

ReplyDelete
26. For instance, in this thread. When I talk about these issues, I am talking about real people I know. It is not something abstract or something I read in the paper. So your breezy put downs and "witty" dismissals are not appreciated.

ReplyDelete
27. That is a lie and you cannot provide a single incident where I did that.
Do you think you are the ONLY person who knows people who have fallen on hard times? I am currently PAYING the mortgage on a friend's house so she will not lose it!
You presume a whole hell of a lot.

ReplyDelete
28. You just breezily dismissed my comment with witty remarks. You should really pay attention to how you sound when you post comments.

And it is very generous of you to help out your friend. But for the other millions of people in danger of losing their homes and who don't have a wealthy friend to help them out, the solution is not so simple.

ReplyDelete
29. Wealthy? I am a teacher!!!!!

ReplyDelete
30. Either you are losing your house to save hers or you belong to one fantastic union. Both my parents were teachers, and, well, the lifestyle you allude to here is very different to the one I had growing up. For instance, we didn't go on European vacations: it was usually Atlantic City in the summer.

But that isn't even the point of what I'm saying. If you are doing okay on a teacher's salary, then I say, great. But it is this dismissing all of the problems that are causing so much anxiety and suffering by calling them "whining" and "doom and gloom" that I find so arrogant and ignorant. If we follow your jingoistic program, then this country really is doomed. And I'm not just talking about our empire.

ReplyDelete
31. VZA, thanks for helping your friend. I am glad that America still has many good people like you. :)

ReplyDelete
32. There are ways to travel, Joe and there are ways to travel. I scrimped and saved for everything I ever did. We traded homes in other countries which cuts down on costs immensely. You have alluded to my travel numerous times which leads me to believe the problem is YOURS. You accuse me of laughing at the misfortune of others when you cannot provide a SINGLE instance. Your interpretation of whiners is NOT mine. Did I not state this country has tons of problems in my original comment to you? I do not ignore. I simply deal with them in a manner different from you. But of course, only you and those who thinnk like you are facing them, right? Rubbish.

ReplyDelete
33. The reason I mentioned your travel this and one other time is because you often bring it up when you aren't belittling my concern about the country starting to fall apart. It isn't a very flattering contrast. But I really don't have a problem with you or anyone else achieving a level of success or comfort. I wish it for everyone I care about. It is the dismissal of any warnings and concerns as "whining" that really bugs me. And if you don't think your comments come off that way, maybe you should go back and read them again. Just about every response to my comments from you has a whimsical, condescending tone.
