    Kissinger was an Amy Goodman, Ann Coulter, George Gallaway style fool.

    Kissinger made friends with one of the greatest mass murderers in the human species, Mao. The same Mao who killed 30 million of his own people. Kissinger also made friends with the Soviets, and betrayed America's South Vietnamese friends.

    I don't know what quagmire is being refered to. The South Vietnamese were a brave and patriotic people who would have fought indefinitely for their own freedom if Kissinger, Nixon, Ford and the Congress hadn't cut off US foreign aid to South Vietnam.

    People uninformed about the many wars of South East Asia should go to Westminster, Orange County, and hear the truth before spouting nonsense.

    So, Mara, does he believe this guff or not? I used to think that he was on some sort of  retainer from the CIA to troll websites they disapproved of. Now I'm inclined to view him as a deranged type who knows he'll receive the attention he craves by posting nonsensical but annoying remarks.
    When a flea bites it gets your full attention even though it's just a flea.

    Mara, what do you mean by "far right?" I have no idea what "right" and "left" even mean.

    Mara, if you grew up with South Vietnamese refugees, your perspective on South Vietnam and America betraying them by stabbing them in their back when they were down, would be different.

    America lied to the South Vietnamese and betrayed them. This kind of breaking America's word to foreigners is the real cause of the "Ugly American" syndrome.

    The South Vietnamese had 18 Ranger brigades, 1 Marine Division equivalent, 1 Airborne Division, and 4 other good quality divisions. Most of their divisions were low quality.

    This said, South Vietnam had 10 high quality divisions. They could have held out indefinitely if they didn't run out of money, fuel, spare supplies, and ammunition.

    American betrayed them to America's great shame. This is a major reason that so many around the world regard Americans as liars and don't trust America to keep its word.

    America doesn't have nearly as bad a reputation as the Brits; but honestly, that isn't saying very much.

    Well, then again, what do I know...

    He is a soldier.  Soldiers are trained to follow orders without questioning.  They are indoctrinated.  So was he.  This much is undeniable.
