    Of course it was found on Jemmy's blog! He never misses an opportunity to diss Americans.
    For chip-on-the-shoulder lefties, generalizing about a people is truly reactionary and so passe'...except when it's about Americans. 

    But it is funny.

    Yes, vza it's funny and in many instances it has relevance too. I interacted with an American"progressive" yesterday on Facebook and I'm still under shock at the utter insularity and obtuseness and ignorance of the fellow..It was all fine until he was lecturning me on the right course ti take with them Palestinians..Think fleming but on the "left" side of things..

    Besides, I really like Jemmy's blog..It provides me with a different insight into other stuff that usually I'm unaware of or unconcerned about as I tend to be, alas!, more centered on specific issues either in politics or in the arts..and I very much like his style in writing, concise, eloquent and funny..A "jem"!

    Oh, I like his blog, too. It is interesting and often laugh-out- loud funny. I am actually a big fan, but don't tell him I said so. He might not appreciate a compliment from an American!

    Cheers, vza. I should point out that I lifted the map from a Canadian's blog, mainly because it coincided with something I'd posted about fleming's world view.
    I honestly believe that the USA is the biggest threat to world peace, though its activities are sometimes camouflaged by contracting out to its proxy, Israel. USA, of course, means the US ruling elite, but so many US citizens seem to think it unpatriotic to criticise these gangsters. You know, "my country right or wrong", very unhealthy.

    The biggest threat to peace?  I don't agree, but will not argue the point today.

    I loved your Fredo and Michael allusion when commenting about the Milliband brothers. Very funny.
    What a story! I was fascinated with the whole thing. What do you think of Ed as Labour leader?

    To be honest I didn't think it mattered who won. They will all base their domestic policies on the demands of the Murdoch media empire, and their foreign policy on the dictates of Washington.
    I have read that Murdoch wanted David M. for Labour leader, so now his minions are going to smear Ed M. no matter how much he grovels to the Master of the Universe (and he will grovel).

    In the UK Murdoch rules. His grip on the media is Berlusconiesque. In the US ( I believe) he had to take citizenship before he could obtain the control he has over press and TV outlets. No problem here. His minions continually break the law with their news gathering methods but nothing is done. Of course it helps that he has a fair proportion of the Metropolitan Police Force on retainer, and that they are implicated in the offenses.
    As for a drama, there was a humorous little film (fiction, one assumes) about the rivalry between the brothers fom childhood onwards, interspersed with comments from politicians, etc., who knew the Miliband family. Dad Ralph was a high profile Marxist intellectual, and founder member of the 'New Left' movement post-Hungary 1956. Mother Miliband has just been in the news as a supporter of the Jewish aid ship to Gaza; somewhat more radical than her boys. She doesn't have to worry about toeing the Murdoch line.

    You're right, Murdoch did become a U.S. citizen. I don't think he has that kind of power here, though.
    Murdoch had to get the Kennedys to intercede on his behalf just to get an interview with Obama. Obama loathes Fox News.

    I am surprised the writers of Spooks haven't come up with a story line involving a fictional Murdoch-type character attempting to implement some nefarious plan only to have it quashed by Section D at MI-5!
    Can't help it....love that show.
