  1. Lebanon won't be affected by this bit of useless  "I love Israel" news coming from the Congress people. Stopping the $100 millions in aid could be the best thing to happen to Lebanon. So far, the aid that came with lots of strings attached, has consisted of logistical stuff like Humvees for the army to travel in class rather than in its WW II Jeep Willis and huge Dodge cars for the police force to replace its 15-year Nissan Patrols and both deals were great for GM and Chrysler much more than for Lebanon that now has a huge gas expense because of these guzzlers. I was forgetting about the unarmed Vietnam-vintage Hueys. The last time the $100 millions were frozen was following the tree-cutting incident because the Congress wanted to investigate the crucial question on whether the Israeli soldier had been shot by a Russian AK-47 or an American M16. Now it wants to freeze this amount again because Lebanon welcomed the head of state of a country that has given the Lebanese billions to rebuild what the Israelis with the help of the Americans had destroyed. The Iranians and the Russians have been practically begging the Lebanese to ask them for modern arms but the pro-US government has been shy to do it to not offend the Americans but now the Minister of Defense is appearing pissed off at these aid on and off antics and may be less embarrassed to consider getting real military help elsewhere.

  2. Poor Lebanon , it's about to miss out on $100 M. worth of useless antique. If Lebanon have one iota of decency , they would be telling the Americans to better sell it on Ebay.
