GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A delegation of former global leaders arrived in Gaza on Saturday via the Rafah crossing between the Strip and Egypt, the Gaza borders and crossings department announced in a statement.
The Elders delegation includes former Irish President Mary Robinson, former US president Jimmy Carter, Indian women's rights campaigner Ela Bhatt and former Algerian foreign minister and UN envoy Lakdhar Brahimi. They were received by head of the Gaza government's anti-siege committee Ahmad Yousif and crossings department chief Ghazi Hammad.
