Foreclosure protests in Madrid
In Madrid, Spain, protestors against home evictions gather in front of the headquarters of the Partido Popular, the conservative party (rooted in Spanish fascism) that returned to power in November 2011. After public outrage over suicides by foreclosed home owners, Spanish banks announced they will freeze mortgage-related evictions for two years in cases of extreme need. That leaves the banks too much room for maneuver. Better yet if protestors just close those banks down & foreclose on Partido Popular. (Photo by Pierre-Philippe Marcou.AFP/Getty Images)
