Clinton Threatens to Attack Iran ‘The Way That We Did’ Iraq

Secretary of State Says US or "Some Other Enemy" May Launch First Strike Against Iran

Citing the disastrous 2003 US invasion of Iraq as an example, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today warned that by continuing to refuse to abandon its civilian nuclear program, Iran was risking the possibility of an invasion by the US or “some other enemy that would do that to them.”

The comments came during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program, and when asked by interviewer and former Clinton-era official George Stephanopoulus, Secretary Clinton reiterated “that’s right, as a first strike.”

  2. I suppose they think that they can do to Iran what they did to Iraq if Iran decides not to submit itself to the will of U.S./Israeli demands?

  3. Good God.

I said during the vicious primary battle that when it came to foreign policy there was zero difference among the major-party candidates running. McCain, Obama, Clinton, all of them--take your pick, the only exceptions were Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich (and the third-party candidates). So really, all we had to choose from was a difference in domestic policy.

No wonder Hillary could make the transition to SOS so easily. There is no fundamental difference in approach. Note, it really sickens me to say this and to have it confirmed but it's not like it's a big surprise.

  4. Typically monstrous saber rattling from Clinton.  Hopefully it's rhetoric in the tradition of the "Nixon Madman theory" but I wouldn't put anything past the warmongers. For them, peace is bad for business. Death and destruction are their bread and butter.
