Our local paper is now officially carrying Hasbara straight from Israel

Our local tabloid (owned by Rupert Murdoch and possibly the most read newspaper in the city) Will carry a section of 48 pages from the Jerusalem Post, weekly!

Show that you and Israel are in favor of peace and that Israel must defeat those who would undermine peace so that real work can be done for all sides - Israelis and Palestinians - to have a better future. Please try to avoid the word NO. Use the word YES and the word PEACE. Other words to use are CHILDREN, HOPE, and FUTURE.

    Two things: First, it is too early to judge the Obama administration. Second, Obama ultimately isn't going to do much with Latin America. He is more worried about the economy. However, he doesn't need any new crises breaking out anywhere else in the world, so he will try to keep the kettle from boiling over in Latin America (which means he will pretty much leave us to our own devices). Trinidad and Tobago was a nice photo-op. That is about the extent of it...

    excerpts from the Texas Instruments conference call:    
     
    You'll recall at the midquarter update we raised the middle of our guidance range and referenced that 3G communications infrastructure in China was the most notable area of better than expected strength. In the last few weeks of the quarter, in addition to base stations, we also saw better than expected demand from notebook computers, some other sectors of the handset market, as well as from LCD-based HDTVs.      Regionally, most of the strength is coming from Asia, while the other regions remain subdued. Therefore, we wouldn't characterize the stronger demand as broad based, as it was concentrated in a few high volume end markets and the Asian region. Nonetheless, it is encouraging to see our revenues stabilizing, albeit at what remains a low level.

    Molly, US imperialism is weak right now, struggling to overcome an economic depression that has just begun, and thus I think relations with Latin America will remain in flux. We have to wait and see. I personally believe that Obama will eventually lift the embargo on Cuba and establish diplomatic relations with that country. But this is just superficial change. When the current deflationary trend mutates into hyperinflation, giving way to the second and most protracted phase of this depression, Obama will be facing stiff opposition from the US right-wing and will be mired in an internecine squabble of apocaliptic poportions. So its this that will give us better and more opportunities to pursue our continental freedom and integration, and not any major concession from Washington.

    This is just a little bounce within a general downward trend. It's meaningless. Make no mistakes, we are in a depression that has just started. When a patient suffering from terminal cancer has a good morning with low fever and less pain, no one can infer that this is a sign of recovery.
