Israeli Confusion and the Settlements

Analyzing the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and the Middle East conflict in general, it is easy to draw the conclusion that many of the most controversial issues are in fact totally irrational. After spending time in Israel, I realized that some Israelis have an incomplete awareness of what the occupation is. People asked me many questions, ranging from inquiries about political and security issues, to very simple questions such as how tall the wall is, or why even internationals volunteers are so scared of young soldiers at check points.

    Why has no one been arrested? This is disgusting and shameful. And these settlers consider themselves to be religious!

  2. vza because it is not just the settlers  - why do you still ask these questions (is Anand disease spreading?)? It is entire government complicity. Maybe after

    ?!!
    I think I already made a post about this where those actions are carried out in coordination with and under the protection of the IDF soldiers! A majority of those soldiers are settlers themselves. Besides, it's a deliberate policy of the Israeli govn't to embitter and frustrate the Palestinians and drive them out.

  5. Sorry, guys. My question was more of scream than an actual question requiring an answer.

  7. Get real, Zionist ignorance, convenient ignorance. I have dealt with this "ignorance" my entire life, you might be surprised at how "ignorant" someone becomes because of self-interest and not wanting to face harsh responsibilities.

  9. TGIA, I don't think a majority of soldiers are settlers. Aren't there only 400,000 settlers? Adding their family and friends, maybe a million. That is a minority of all Israelis. {Most extremist settlers are very wierd; and don't have many friends.}

    TGIA, I am not convinced that most Israelis want the Palestinians to leave the occupied territories. After all 23% of Israeli citizens are Palestinians. They aren't being forced to leave Israel (although the facist nut Lieberman says the most horrible things about Palestinian Israelis.)
