Ahmadinejad: Anyone who strikes Iran will regret it

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday said any country that dared to attack Iran would "deeply regret" such a move, dashing hopes that his re-election Saturday would temper his confrontational stance toward the world.

"Who dares to attack Iran? Who even dares to think about it?" Ahmadinejad said at a news conference in response to a question.

An interesting observation...On the side of the article there's an ad written in Farsi. Strangely enough I was able to read it and understand it though I don't know the language at all!!! Every single word was actually Arabic, only the syntax differs. I wasn't aware to which degree Farsi took from Arabic( and vice versa, of course!)

  2.  Perhaps he is getting information from the oracle, Sy Hersh. Oh wait. He was wrong. He predicted that Bush would attack Iran.

  5. Afghanistan, Iraq, Russia, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and other countries are part of the world too.

It is Khamenei who has had the "confrontational stance" rather than Ahmenijad.

Khamenei has organized attacks against the ANA (Afghan National Army), IA (Iraqi Army) while in public praising the GoI and GoA as God's best gift to Man. Khamenei in public strongly backs the IA and ANA while privately supporting attacks against them; and more importantly supporting death squads in Iraq and Afghanistan that attack Sunni Arab Iraqi Civilians and Afghan Civilians.

India voted against Khamenei at the IAEA and UN on the Nuclear issue. Khamenei also has had problems with Russia and China. Indonesia has also pressed Khamenei to moderate the language and to reach an agreement on nuclear power. Indonesia offered to try to broker an agreement between Bush and Khamenei. Other countries are also turned off by Ahmenijad's over the top rhetoric. Ahmenijad makes stupid statements on the holocaust, blames 9/11 on the Zionists or Israelis, calls for the destruction of Israel (unlike Hamas which calls for a one free plural state solution,) on Iranian political figures, and on many other issues.

Khamenei has a global problem. In many PEW polls since 2005, the most unpopular two countries on earth have been Iran and Israel. Ahmenijad's language lead to this result. In the most recent Iraqi public opinion poll, Iran was by far the least popular country. Even below KSA, Syria, America and Jordan (all of which are also unpopular.)

  6. That's very interesting, TGIA (the part about the Farsi, I mean).  My husband speaks Urdu and can understand a lot of Farsi as well.
