After attending Mandela’s memorial, Knesset member’s blood rejected in gov’t drive because she is African

Israel's first Ethiopian-born Knesset member Pnina Tamano-Shata traveled to South Africa to pay homage to Nelson Mandela. But when she returned and tried to donate blood, she was told that she was barred from doing so because she had "the special kind of Jewish-Ethiopian blood.”
