AL-BUREIJ, occupied Gaza Strip (IPS) - Tens of thousands of children in Gaza are still suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following Israel's three-week bombing in December-January.
Several crisis counseling teams run by international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been carrying out intervention programs aimed at helping Gaza's most vulnerable put the pieces of their lives back together.
But these groups warn that while there has been some improvement in the collective psyche of Gaza's children, the long-term effects of war are now beginning to show, and unless the rights of Gazans are respected, the next generation's future will be hard to predict.

They were HUMANELY traumatised by the most moral army in the world, didn't you know? Maybe you should read Bernard-Henri Levy then!!They've been warned before they were bombarded to smithereens!

"They've been warned before they were bombarded to smithereens!"
ReplyDeleteI have mentioned this before, there is a type of serial killer that likes to warn the victims - sends them messages of sorts. The messages sent to the Palestinians before they were bombed are the same exact act - with the same legitimacy. Imagine a serial killer before a judge saying - "but I warned them before I killed them." Will this make any difference to the judge? Neither does the carping about being warned before bombings, which are just as illegal as the serial killers note, only on a grand scale. Plus, if anyone followd these "practices" in Gaza and elsewhere, it does not matter - because they bomb and shoot them while they try to escape.
Israel is on course of self destruction ,it's not really hard to predict the future to some degree of all who have been traumatised by this and other crimes committed against Palestinians, just like previous generations who witnessed similar atrocities , and then the world will again ask again " But look at their charter ".
ReplyDeleteThere has been no progress in rebuilding schools as Israel is preventing most building material for reconstruction from entering Gaza.So it's not shortage of money or lack of will to rebuild themselves
If this wasn't a war of elimination , a genocide , what could it be ?
But Fleming's lesson is putting it behind and move forward. Where to ?

Excellent v...I made it a post, thanks..
ReplyDeleteThe lesson is just what I said. Japan surrendered when it realized it had lost the war: its armies were utterly defeated, US warships were floating off their mainland and two atomic bombs had been dropped. They fought stubbornly, even resorting to suicide attacks, too, but they finally took the hint and gave up the ghost. They are better off today for doing so sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeletePalestinians dont have the fire power to go against Israel, much less the US. Their best "hope" is Iran sending nuclear missiles into Tel Aviv. However such an would have very serious consequences all around the world. The gloves would come off in a big way.
Have you noticed the stock market of late? Remember all those dire "predictions" by Moy, Abe, Yasmin etc about how the US was going down the tubes? I said at the time, that although no one could predict the future, the US is an extremely resilient country and was not going to go belly up over some falling house prices and a couple of big banks failing. Sure, some extraordinary measures were taken, many of which I do not agree. But bottom line the Republic is intact.
So, the US is still very much here. And nothing is going to change of real importance in our relationship with Israel. Nothing. Your best hope in years is with Obama. He clearly has some sympathy toward Palestine. Those Pals should take what they can get while the getting is good. Obama may or may not get reelected.
Dancing Os makes an assertion (in another thread) that the US should align itself with the "countries of the future" in Venezuela and Iran. What silliness! Such countries only TEMPORARY advantage is some oil in the ground. The world is just beginning its move away from fossil fuel energy. Countries like Venezuela, Iran and others that rely on their naturally limited resources for most of their wealth, rather than technological development, entrepreneurship and the creative destruction of capitalism are, in fact, dying dinosaurs. It may take another 50 years, but they are inevitably headed toward the dustbins of history. Unless Dancing O can tell us what wonderous resource they will pull from the ground next, after the oil runs dry, that can sustain their long term economically ruinous policies.
I do not answer the rest because it is the same nonsense you have said previously re-packaged, However this -

I want you to remember that am saying this is a sucker market. In the past we has a "jobless" recovery under Bush, where fewer jobs and less paying ones replaced those that would sustain a good living. Now, we have something worse still a "job-loss" recovery, where nothing appears on the horizon. Indeed, what is going on with these two conditions (jobless and job-loss economic recovery)? There has been a massive transfer of wealth, and it has not stopped yet, which only goes to prove that this will last much longer and take another dip soon, indeed, history repeats itaelf because it is the same elite (just differing in where, who and how) which enriches itself at the expense of the people -

I go back to my previous statement: YOU cannot predict the future. The only "FACT" (you know, those things you claim to love so much), is that the stock market has rebounded sharply from its March lows and now shows positive gains for the year. This cannot be argued with, because it is absolute FACT.
ReplyDeleteAll the rest of your tripe is merely speculation and wishful thinking, combined with your inceessant levelling of baseless and silly accusations of theft against some anonymous and amorphous group of "elites" that you cannot name or even partially identify. Quite simply, the ravings of a madman,

ReplyDeleteSome call this "retreat," I call it a sucker market - eat it fleming
Here is another wonder - a "job-loss" recovery, isn't it marvelous?
