Ladies and Gentlemen. Let me introduce you to a very nasty growth spurt victim
Mr Thom Brown...A top American designer who's according to "the Sartorialist", "is the most important young menswear designer in New York"....
".....I also like that he is an American designer that has based his look in traditional American design without losing its edge or ability to be exported around the world. He is teaching an entire new generation why JFK was so cool."
Oh,yes! I'm feeling so very inspired by this right now as I'm seriously thinking wearing my 12 years old son's school uniform for the opening night of my next group exhibition in September...

The poor thing has to bravely face off the quipps of some very amused folk...
ReplyDeleteVery silly person...lol
ReplyDeleteBut, at least if he is in a flood, he may not soil the hem of his pants...
ReplyDeleteThhat's it! I made a deal with my son. We're swapping clothes..He likes loose fittings..
ReplyDeleteIf you design it someone will wear it..Thom Browned ....

Oh boy! ...Thom Brown's shorts are selling for $715!!! here:
ReplyDelete"The rack is beautifully coordinated and merchandised, except for one thing: about half of the available bottoms are shorts - not any old shorts, but $715ish shorts! I'm sure they are beautifully bespokeish shorts but they are still $715!!!"

The $715 shorts...From Thom Brown's show.
ReplyDeleteThe suit that looks a few sizes too small, his grim expression, and the sidewalk and steel gate behind him gives the general appearance of a desperate man looking for work. A caption for the picture might say, "Unemployment reaches five year high."
ReplyDeleteWell, Joe...Very soon it might be the case..While for the time being he's enjoying some reputation it's all written on it: Gloom and Doom..Too excessive a look to make a lasting impact...
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't understand is how can someone look at a picture like this, then look at a picture of an Arab woman in a hijab, and say get all worked up about the hijab being inhumane.
ReplyDeletethat was me.

As a whole, some sanity prevails here but still, some, quite a few actually, have taken to this absurd tiny suit trend like the silly Paul Smith and other wackos...On the positive side, some very fine suits are on display as well.

The problem is that there's always one pr two details that are "trendy" which make them unportable any way such as long sleeves or very tiught pants...Yuk..

I'm surprised to see that they're NOT going sans socks!! It was the abominable trend for quite some time in recent years..A tiny bit of sanity is back I guess!
ReplyDeleteBut then again the opposite is quite ridiculous as well! ha ha..Poor Al, he had to wear this for a part as a police officer in Righteous-Kill...In my time I would have REFUSED!
