The Angry Arab's comment:
Amos Oz and the rest of the gang of Zionist hypocrisy
A group of Israeli leftist poseurs are now claiming to demand an investigation into "allegations" of war crimes in the Israeli assault on Gaza. It is sufficient to read the name of Amos Oz to smell hypocrisy. Here is a man who always want to have it both ways: he always, ALWAYS, supports every Israeli murder, assault, invasion, war, occupation, but then pretend to oppose "certain excesses" when a large number of people are killed. If there is a personification of the rottenness of Zionism, it is Amos Oz.

The shoot and cry crowd, akin to the invading-democracy crowd, the "liberators." Plenty of hypocrisy to go arond, but this ass makes it an art form (Oz).

ReplyDeleteI guess he should keep his mouth shut then? Of course he is not going to satisfy an anti-Zionist like you or me, but why criticize him when he does something good?
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to your blog, Molly.
ReplyDeleteBecause he gives the apperance of caring, when he has supported every aggression Molly. there was NEVER a good reason for the murderous invasions when he supported them. It gives the apperance of tolerance and moderation, when there is none - and the atrocities continue. He is a two-faced janus, no matter what he says or pleads - period.
ReplyDeleteHowever he has the right to say what he likes, and i have the right to point out his glaring hypocrisy.
ReplyDeleteI would state it differently; maybe he fears a second halocaust. Perhaps Palestinians should try to manage his paranoia. Some Israelis really think that many Palestinians want to kill them.

Thanks for my first laugh of the day! It's a gorgeous weather over here. How's the weather on your planet?
These guys on the Left do seem to enjoy attacking one another. The war of words between Hamid Dabashi and the professor is hilarious, too.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are a hoot, the left in Israel vza. They entertain you while they support murderous occupation, giving the apperance of opposition amd "fairness." Hilarious :)
ReplyDeleteTGIA, I am serious. Talk to some Israeli friends. They are really paranoid. You can say with some justification that they are irrational; this is true . . . many Israelis are irrational.
ReplyDeleteI have been told by very smart Jewish Americans and Israelis that Hamas wants to drive the Jews into the sea. Even I use to think this might be so.
They are really paranoid.

You mean they have a mental illness? We haven't been saying otherwise. It's not the business of the Palestinians to cure them. A psychiatrist is more apropriate.
V, I don't need a lecture from you on what is justified in Israel/Palestine. I have never justified Israeli anything. Whatever he has done in the past, this is a good thing. Even hypocrites can do good things.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about Amos Oz(He never interested me enough to read anything by him.), But I do have a problem when liberals perpetrate the fiction that there is a legitimate moderate position between, for instance, a defenseless civilian population and a modern army that is assaulting it. Certain core issues cannot be compromised on. And when someone with some moral authority comes out and says that these principles can be compromised, it does more harm than if they shut the fuck up....Also, they alsways seem to come out after the deed is done and want to lead the soul searching-but they never say anything in time to save lives.
ReplyDeleteThat was me.
ReplyDeleteI do not give a shit what you think Molly, he is fucking complicit bastard - and don't you tell me shit, and cut the lecturing out yourself neophyte. I have contact with people like this, they disgust me. If you do not want to talk to me than stop addressing me, because our exchanges are really fruitless - are you growing a garden between your ears? When I say something that is my position, there are no invisible strings attached to it, and if you cannot understand a simple statement like this, don't bother to say anything at all.
ReplyDeleteYeah, well that is what this ass does Joe - and I am tired of Mrs. know-nothing potato head. Maybe she is running for the award of amoral supporter of bullshit with Oz, who the hell knows...
ReplyDeleteAs an example -
ReplyDeleteJacobson's writings exemplify the dilemma of liberal Zionists, the politicians, authors and journalists who often grace the pages of the "center-left" press in the US and UK (as well as Israel). They desperately wish to "acknowledge" and embrace the Palestinian "feeling" of suffering and dispossession, yet at the same time, help to solidify the Zionist mythology that was, and is, used to justify the Palestinians' dispossession. Perhaps, however, it is not quite strictly accurate to call it a "dilemma," since for the Zionist -- liberal or otherwise -- there is no doubt when it comes to the crunch question of whether to support or oppose the ongoing colonization of Palestine and the dispossession of its people.
