Shulamit Aloni / Israel is controlled by religious fanaticism

Not very long ago, during Rabbi Meir Kahane's racist rantings, the late writer and journalist Amos Elon gave me a copy of a letter Lord Rothschild sent to Herzl in August 1902. In the letter, Rothschild explains why he refuses to support the establishment of a Jewish state in the Land of Israel. He writes that he "should view with horror the establishment of a Jewish colony pure and simple; such a colony would be Imperium Imperio; it would be a Ghetto with the prejudice of the Ghetto; it would be a small petty Jewish state, orthodox and illiberal, excluding the Gentile and the Christian."

"For 42 years we have been occupying, oppressing and stealing lands that are not ours. To be free in our land do we need to become thieving Cossacks, uprooters of trees, burners of fields and harassers of women, the elderly and the very young? "We have this land, we have it," goes the song, but what should have been said is "We have the power, we have it, we have the money, we have it, and we are allowed, we are," to starve an entire population, imprison it and annihilate it using air strikes, cluster bombs and white phosphorous. Because we are the lords of the land and God has chosen us to rule. For the shame of it."

""A unique people," wrote David Ben-Gurion. Alas, for that uniqueness. Instead of a Jewish and democratic state they have delivered us a Jewish state controlled by religious fanaticism, one that maintains the purity of the race. They have delivered a democracy in the most primitive sense - not the preservation of democratic values but rule by the demos, the populace that is dictating the transformation of Israel into a totalitarian ethnocracy."

This comment on the article from Rabbi M glazer (Los Angeles):

"Shulamit Aloni speaks the heartbreaking truth; not only do we have a racist thug as Foreign Minister, but a population of violent, lawless racists whose very lawlessness has been abetted by one government after another. Cry, the beloved country."

    Another interesting comment:

"The Jewish settlers were bad news from day one.

The Jewish publisher chronicled their hostility and cruelty in 1891
in his pamphet, the Truth from Palestine:

"The Jewish settlers treat the Arabs with hostility and cruelty ,
trespass unjustly , beat them shamelessly for no sufficient
reason, and even take pride in doing so."

Things sound no different today over 100 years later.

Of course, the only difference now , people won`t accept their
practices and force them out. The Palestinian people have a right
to live in peace with one another without the bullies in Israel."

      "Women at the back" bus!
"I normally avoid taking the so declared " modesty buses " but when I ran late to work...I decide to take the bus number 36, 56 or 40...

Today I did take the bus number 56, it was half empty and I chose to sit in front.. That is in the men section of the bus. There were still a few empty sits..

A guy came in with a couple of plastic shopping bags...he looked at his bags and then he looked at me... The he started to tell me in Hebrew that I belong to the back of the bus... I answered that I didn`t speak or understand any Hebrew... Although I did clearly undersand what he was telling me...It was very very obvious...He started to talk in broken English...when the driver interrupted him and told me that He was telling me that I should go to the back of the bus... I asked wether we were in the 50s in the USA ??? The driver replied What I say is that You can sit wherever I wanted...He was right... But I was still really upset... So I also said that May be the men can sit in the back

    From President Truman`s diaries:

""The Jews, I find, are very, very selfish. They care not how many Estonians, Latvians, Finns, Poles, Yugoslavs or Greeks get murdered or mistreated as D[isplaced] P[ersons] as long as the Jews get special treatment. Yet when they have power, physical, financial or political neither Hitler nor Stalin has anything on them for cruelty or mistreatment to the under dog."

  12. I wasn't aware of that Truman quote either! Seems eerily prescient, although really it should read "Israelis" not "Jews."

Dont' think I've read Aloni before, that was a beautiful and powerful piece of writing.

  13. Anti Jewish bigotry has always been a big challenge in America. Chinese and Indians are much less anti Jew.

  14. Yeah, but that did not stop Truman from taking a suitcase of money from the Zionists and swiftly declaring a state
