They were not foreign saboteurs, they were innocent Tourists from Sweden. They were released soon after by the authorities thanks to some level headed individuals. Aljazeera had a coverage of this in its news. It was sad seeing them beaten like this. People are on edge in Tunis and it is sad fact of revolutions that innocent people will suffer, mostly natives, but also tourists.
Yes TG they, were hunters. The weapons were hunting rifles and hunters use telecommunication devices. The army (which you see in the footage, checked the evidence and then released the tourists). Believe me, I saw the report on al-Jazeera. I do believe that there is foreign conspiracies against the revolution in Tunisia. But Tunisia does not lack criminals to import some out of Europe (the fight between the army and the internal security forces was proof enough). I couldn't find the link to al-Jazeera report, but here's something from the BBC (which is similar to the one I watched): http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-12205669
Thanks Abu Zuhair..Sad that they've been bashed but in times of unrest when people are on the edge this type of stuff often happens. Having said that, what hell are they hunters for? What a miserable thing to do killing innocent defenceless animals! Bugger them after all!
