Egypt cut off from the world!

No internet, no mobile networks, no social media! Activists massively targeted.

  1. I'm sure you saw this, but just in case here it is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFFKFfuvDUY

I thought that you would like this: “We will not be silent… whether you’re a Christian, whether you’re a Muslim, whether you’re an atheist… you will demand your god damn rights… and we will have our rights, one way or the other…”

  4. This is good for Americans to see, many of whom have a very bigoted and limited opinion of Arabs - they can now see (if the bother to look, another question) that not all Arab women are kept covered from head to toe. They can see women protesting next to men. They can see an educated, sophisticated population every bit as tech-savvy as the rest of the world. They can see that it's not a black and white situation where the choices are backward islamic extremists and pro-western dictatorships.

  5. An important point. Bareheaded women alongside clean-shaven men, gives the lie to the allegation (inEgypt) that the protests are organised by the Muslim Brotherhood.

  6. Muslim Brotherehood aren't organising anything. They're reluctantly joining in. The heart isn't in it.
