Obama's Plan for the Palestinians What Kind of State? By NADIA HIJAB

"Arab and Israeli commentators have pretty much outlined the speech Barack Obama will deliver in Egypt during his June visit, even though he is still meeting with the region's leaders in Washington. While some are optimistic, many are fearful.

Israelis fear that Obama will make them recognize Palestinian rights and force them to give up the Palestinian and Syrian territory they have been busy colonizing since 1967.

Arabs fear Obama will announce that their leaders plan further concessions in the form of expanded normalization with Israel in the Arab and Islamic worlds before a full withdrawal and comprehensive peace. They also fear his speech will nix the Palestinian right of return, which is both an individual and a collective right under international law, and support Israel as a "Jewish state" instead of the state of all its citizens." The term "Jewish" state is slightly disconcerting. Why not say "Israeli state."
    ---------------
Because it's how they, not us, define their statehood. It's now a precondition that the Palestinians accept this as a fact before any advance in negotiations, if there arew any to be had!

I don't think that Israel is colonizing the Golan Heights.

This is is simply not true. It's very naive to think that the settler thugs would simply pull out of what seems to be a permenant establishment whether through structures like towns and villages and the likes. Those settlers aren't going to just go away without a serious fight and you know it dear "guest" . Israel is going to use all the excuses of security concerns as hurdles to letting go of any land it has stolen. One day Israel may even demand that North Korea isn't a threat to it's existence too! Anything to keep the spoils.

The real problem is parts of Jeruselem and to a lesser degree other parts of the west bank. Netanyahu wants these.

Yeah a real problem isnt it! Ha ha! We can all go to sleep now, case closed!

Anyone who's now in possession of so many facts and figures pointing out to the very colonial and expansionist nature of the Jewish state would have had a firm stance agaist occupation, apartheid, opression and theft but not you "guest"( I won't say more!)! Oh, but Israel is a high-tech free market country, that should excuse it all, doesn't it?
